Effect of not having wetlands
Wetlands are very important to our humanity. Without them things will change for the worse. Our cities will have to spend more money to clean water. The water will raise more so communities will be more prone to floods. The animals that would lose their homes would be displaced or die out. There would also be a disrupt in food supplies due to the lack of rice. https://www.worldwildlife.org/habitats/wetlands

Yes, wetlands are incredibly important. Sadly, we spent a couple hundred years just draining them, for other purposes. Hard to restore them in all their muddy glory!
