Post 3: Trees
Nia Mallette For this post I wanted to take a step back and discuss the more obvious effects of land. As we all know trees are a huge part of land. “They give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilize the soil and give life to the world’s wildlife” (Royal Parks). These are things we should have already heard or known, if you haven’t you just gained some knowledge. However, what humans fail to realize is that trees are essential to life. Without oxygen we don’t live. Without the animals having a place to stay, they don’t live and we eventually won’t eat. Also, by cutting down trees we release all the carbon dioxide stored in the trees over millions of years and this is extremely detrimental to us. This chain reaction can go on and on, but it seems like we are negligent to the brutal reality of what we do when we cut down trees.
