Transportation Air Pollution
Our daily activities that require us to drive is one of the main contributors to air pollution.
Our cars ,trucks, and busses that we drive daily contribute half of nitrogen oxides in our air.
The nitrogen oxides that are released are a major source of global warming emissions in the US.
How is air pollution created?
Air pollution is created from the additional emissions that are associated with distribution of fuels, manufacturing and disposal of vehicles.
A few types of pollutants our vehicles release are....

*Particulate matter - which could be soot seen in the vehicle exhaust which is a serious threat to human health
*Volatile Organic Compounds- An maim ingredient is smog which is good in the upper atmosphere but could harm our respiratory
system if close to ground level
* Carbon monoxide - orderless ,colorless , and poisonous gas formed by fossil fuels such as gasoline which is produced mainly by motor vehicles
* Greenhouse gases -carbon dioxide that contribute to global climate change
